The Emergency Department at Hocking Valley Community Hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide the care you need, when you need it.
Our emergency department provides initial treatment to patients with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which may be life-threatening and require immediate attention. In cases of extreme trauma, we can stabilize and transport patients efficiently. A helipad is just outside our emergency treatment facilities. Our dedicated and experienced team is committed to delivering exceptional 24-hour emergency care.

When to Seek Emergency Care
For any life-threatening medical emergencies, please call 911 or ask someone to drive you to the nearest hospital. These medical emergencies include:​
- Abdominal pain
- Allergic reaction
- Broken bones
- Chest pains
- Deep cuts
- Dehydration
- Difficulty breathing
- Head injuries
- Ingestion of a potentially life-threatening substance
- Paralysis
- Seizures
- Severe burns
- Severe head/neck pain
- Stroke-like symptoms (slurred speech)
- Suicidal thoughts
- Traumatic injuries
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Unresponsive
